Basics 1 & 2
Start in Sweetheart Position (both are on same footwork) – Twinkle, Twinkle
1-3Cross R foot over L (1). Step slightly to L on L foot (2). Recover on R foot in place (3).
4-6Cross L foot over R (4). Step slight to the R on R foot (5). Recover on L foot in place (6).
*At the end of the second twinkle, square up to face the line of dance forward.
Basics 3 & 4
Still dancing in Sweetheart position
Step forward, ¼ turn R, step step behind
1-3Step forward on R foot (1). Open a ¼ turn R (facing outside line of dance) stepping to the side on L foot (2). Step R foot behind L (3).
Guy’s footwork travels forward. Lady’s will do a full inside turn into a hammerlock position
4-6Guy: ¼ turn L on L foot stepping forward and release lady’s L hand and begin to turn lady in toward you bringing R arm up and over Lady’s head (4).
Lady: ¼ turn in toward the gentleman stepping on L foot (4).
Guy: Step forward on R foot as you continue to turn lady in toward you bring Lady’s R hand down to waist level (5).
Lady: ¼ turn in toward guy stepping on R foot (5).
Guy: Complete full turn by turning the lady a ¾ turn to face line of dance by bring R hand down and around to R side of lady’s waist and stepping forward on the L foot (6).
Lady: Complete full turn by pivoting on the ball of the R foot and do a ¾ turn to face front line of dance stepping forward on the L foot (6).
Basics 5 & 6
Travel forward in a hammerlock position
Forward basic, Coast step
1-3Step forward on R foot (1). Step forward on L foot next to R (2). Step R foot next to L(3)
4-6Step back on L foot (4). Step back on R foot next to L (5). Step forward on L foot (6).
Guy’s footwork turns ¼ turn toward Lady. Lady’s footwork does a full outside turn.
1-3Guy: Step forward on R and begin to turn bringing the lady’s L arm up (1).
Lady: Step forward on R foot as guy begins the turn (1).
Guy: ¼ turn R toward lady bringing her L hand up and over her head and step L (2).
Lady: Begin turn over R shoulder stepping ¼ turn on R on L foot (2)
Guy: Complete turn stepping on R foot in place and bring lady’s L hand down. *You will be in a L over R hand position (3).
Lady: ½ turn over R should to face the guy stepping on the R foot completing turn (3).
Basics 7 & 8
Guy crosses Lady doing ½ turn, Lady does ½ turn (this switches hand position to R over L.)
1-3Guy lifts both hands and begins to rotate a ½ turn over R shoulder as he crosses in front of the lady stepping forward on the L foot(1).
Lady crosses behind the gentleman the gentleman stepping on the L foot (1).
Guy continues to turn ¼ turn over L shoulder stepping on the R foot (2).
Lady continues to turn ¼ turn over R shoulder stepping on the R foot (2).
Guy completes ½ turn rotating one more ¼ turn to face the lady stepping on the L foot as he brings hands done into a R over L hand position (3).
Lady completes ½ turn rotating one more ¼ turn to face the gentleman stepping on the L foot.
Basics 9 & 10
Guy brings lady across back to original position and resumes sweetheart position, coaster step
1-3Guy cross release L hand and starts to bring lady back across stepping on the R foot (1).
Lady cross in front of guy stepping on R foot (1).
Guy continues to cross lady stepping on L foot (2).
Lady continue to cross in front of guy stepping on L foot (2).
Guy picks up lady’s L hand stepping on R foot resuming sweetheart position once again (3).
Lady steps on R foot resuming sweetheart position with guy. *Ladies, please keep L hand accessible for guy to pick up again.
4-6In sweetheart position, both lady and guy conclude dance by stepping back on the L foot (4). Step together on the R foot next to L (5). Conclude coaster step by stepping forward on the L foot opening your body diagonally slightly to the L.
Begin the dance again.
*You can dance the pattern straight through the song without any Tag Or Restart.
The line dance does have a 3 count Tag (hold) but not necessary for the pattern partner dance.
