Promenade position. Both facing line of dance; lady standing on the man's right side; his left hand will hold her left hand either in front of his left shoulder, in front of and slightly higher than his waist, or in front of the lady's left shoulder; his right arm will reach behind the lady and hold her right hand in his right hand slightly to the right of her right shoulder. Can be done as an individual without the arm movements.

SHUFFLE RIGHT, SHUFFLE LEFT (twice)
1-2chassè forward right,left,right

3-4chassè forward left, right, left

5-6chassè forward right, left, right

7-8chassè forward left,right,left

CHARLESTON (twice)
1-2step right forward, kick left forward

3-4step left back, touch right toe back

5-6step right forward, kick left forward

7-8step left back, touch right together

GRAPEVINE RIGHT, TOUCH, GRAPEVINE LEFT, TOUCH
1-2step right to side, cross left behind right

3-4step right to side, touch left toe together

5-6step left to side, cross right behind right

7-8step left to side, touch right toe together

STEP AND TURN ½ (twice)
1-2step right forward(drop right hands) , ½ turn left (weight to left)

2-4step right forward(rejoin right hands) , ½ turn left (weight to left)
